Artificial Milieu studies the surroundings of machine-assisted work: defaults, datasets, deadlines, interfaces and the habits people bring to them. The unit of analysis is the environment, not the isolated prompt.
The field notes pair observed behaviour with interface fragments. Their purpose is diagnostic: to show where a creative decision was widened, narrowed or quietly handed away.
